Meet Josh, Our In-House Hydraulic Specialist
Josh Smith brings a wealth of expertise to our team as our dedicated Hydraulic Specialist. His journey began in Seattle, WA, where he attended South Seattle College and completed a 4-year state apprenticeship through the Aerospace Joint Apprenticeship Council.
After his apprenticeship, Josh honed his skills as a Journeyman Machinist, crafting machined components for a variety of marine dock equipment and winches. His role extended beyond machining to include field work and assisting in the assembly of numerous machines within the trade.
Josh's career advanced as he took on the role of lead machinist for a Class 8 semi-truck manufacturer. In this position, he designed prototype parts, custom tooling, fixtures, and drill jigs, continually innovating to meet company objectives. His boundless creativity and hands-on experience set him apart.
Upon relocating to Boise, ID, Josh expanded his expertise into hydraulic repair while working as a machinist and hydraulic repair mechanic. He developed a passion for hydraulic repairs, including the creation of hydraulic cylinders, hoses and valves. In addition to running the machine shop, Josh repaired and maintained various shop equipment, such as forklifts, test benches, and welders.
We at On-Site Material Handling are thrilled to have Josh on board as we expand our hydraulic services for the Boise area. His skills and experience are invaluable assets to our team and our clients.
